Sherbrooke & the Eastern Townships
It is not overload that starts fires. It is loose connections.
The breaker exists for overloads and it does its job. A loose screw creates resistance, resistance creates heat — and the current stays perfectly normal the whole time. Nothing in your panel sees it.
What we do
Six services, one calculation first
Almost everything starts with knowing what your electrical service can actually absorb. That answer takes an hour on paper and it changes the whole project.
Load calculation
Electrical panel
Moving from 100 to 200 amps when the EV charger and the heat pump arrive together. The load calculation happens first, not after.
Dedicated circuit
EV charging station
Installed on a dedicated circuit, after verifying your service can actually absorb it — that is where half of these projects stall.
Inspection first
Code compliance
Aluminum wiring, missing grounding, overfilled boxes: the defects of sixties and seventies homes, corrected in the right order.
Sealing included
Lighting
Recessed, under-cabinet, exterior. The trap is not the fixture but the ceiling seal, which decides how much warm air your attic receives.
Transfer switch
Generator
A transfer switch is mandatory: back-feeding a generator through an outlet sends power into the grid and endangers a lineworker.
Cause before part
Electrical troubleshooting
A breaker that trips is a symptom, not a defect. We look for what trips it rather than replacing it with a bigger one.
How we work
A bigger breaker is not a repair
The breaker rating matches the wire behind it. Fitting a larger one lets that wire heat past what it can take with nothing tripping. It is the most dangerous thing we find on existing installations, and it was almost always done with good intentions.
- Load calculation before any equipment is proposed
- Cause established before the part gets replaced
- Diagnostic billed and credited — so we look for the real cause
- Certificate handed over with the invoice, not on request
- Panel labelled by verification, not by copying the old one

Six towns, six different defects
Reviews
Often about what someone else had done
I wanted an EV charger. They ran the load calculation before quoting and told me my 100-amp service was not enough with the heat pump. Two other bidders had not mentioned it.
1974 house. They found aluminum behind half the outlets and corrected the connections rather than selling me a full rewire. They explained the difference.
They refused to install my generator without a transfer switch. I thought that was excessive until they explained what happens to the lineworker on the line during the outage.
Good work on the exterior lighting. The schedule slipped a week because of a backordered part; they warned me rather than leaving me waiting.
Fuse panel replaced because my insurer required it. The certificate arrived with the invoice without my having to ask three times like last time.
A breaker tripping for months. The previous electrician had installed a bigger one. They found a loose connection in an attic junction box. It had been heating up for a while.

Worth knowing before you call anyone

100 or 200 amps: the calculation that settles it
It is not a question of house age or square footage. It is an addition of loads done on paper before calling anyone.

Why your insurer wants the fuses gone
A fuse panel is not dangerous in itself. What is dangerous is the temptation to fit a bigger fuse to stop the annoyance.

EV charger: what actually stalls the project
Rarely the charger itself. Almost always the capacity of the electrical service, and that can be known before buying anything.
